Hi there. Looking to move to fuerteventura permanently in 2019. Know it's a while away but want to get everything in place!!! We will be bringing our dogs & cat with us. Have found a great company to get us to huelva but seems horror stories await us on any ferry crossings over with animals. Does anyone have any good stories or advice. Anything much appreciated

Try Woodside Trading for the whole journey, I have heard good reports about them transporting animals

I have a feeling Emm that I heard Woodside had stopped handling pet transport, perhaps Caroline can update us.

If you love your pets then fly them in dont use the ferries. We used the Albazin in February and it was shocking. The first kennels they took us to on the car deck had dog poo in it and was dirty so they took us down to the kennels on deck 4 which are nothing more than cages on a cold semi open deck with the refrigerated containers constantly running so it was noisy and smelly..

Hi we did the journey last September travelling form Portsmouth to Santander with Brittany ferries who were excellent. We drove down to Huelva stopping 3 times. The Armas ferry is not as good I will agree there. Our dog is 38 kg and we had to use one of the upper cages but at least they were clean, we only put her there last thing at night and got her down early morning. There is a decent dog deck area and you have 24 hour access, it is not ideal but is doable. Why don't you try to book a pet friendly cabin??
