anyone know any bars etc where i can get wifi?
Good question - I'll make this sticky - Admin
There are several bars that have free wifi in Caleta. There is a thread about them if you do a Search on this forum.
many thanks captain :)
The Step Inn, provides free WIFI to Patrons, and also the Blues Bar
List of free wifi spots that I used when over last week....
Lins Bar
The dog and Duck (in San Jorge Complex)
Pieros Bar
El Capitan
All these kept me connected whilst over and they ALL require a password (except Pieros).
I have the passwords but will not post them here. Just buy a drink from them and they'll happily give you the passwords.
Some are really fast as well...Lins cafe was faster than my home ADSL2.
Hope this helps

Also WiFi available at
The Cave (Below flower of Scotland)
Smile (On the corner near Legends)

Barry whats the road layout to the left of the FV2 road ???
I've always wondered this, they are to the right of FV2 also, and I'm sure that if you go onto google maps and show the road names they are actually named for some reason

maybe someone else could shed some light, it's only waste ground.
On a side note though, there's no free wifi on the wasteground! ;D
Bar Studs also has free wifi, near Trafalgar bar. :)
The Pickled Palm at the Montecastillo Fiesta Center has free wifi.
Streets showing on maps where no streets exist are known as trap streets. They are designed to catch out cartographers who are simply copying maps from their competitors and can be used in court to prove it!
UK maps have them too all over the place. There is a website somewhere that lists them.
Hope that helps.

Raixa minimarket, up the hill and next to the UK TV office is a free wifi spot.
We have used canery net last year but could not get a signal in our apartment, which is a pain. And not sure we will bother this time, unless its improved its signal. :(

Those road layouts were there when I came 18 years ago. They must have been going to extend Horizonte both sides of the road at one time.

Lins Cafe was pretty quick when i was over......
Slap N Tickle has free WiFi for customers
Lins still pretty quick ? Anyone tried it ?

I found that El Camarote (the fish restaurant at the harbour) have good, free wifi. You have to get the password, but once you've got it, if you go down in the morning before they open at 12:00, you can use it without having to buy another drink!!
El Capitan also has fast, free wifi.
Blues Bar is ok.... ;D

Nice to see you're supporting the the local hard working / hard pressed bars if you go down in the morning before they open at 12:00, you can use it without having to buy another drink!!
Easy hev ;D

We ate enough meals there that I doubt they'd be worried about missing out on the odd drink!
Anyway, the owner drives an Audi TT cabriolet, so presumably isn't THAT hard pressed ... ... ...
A coffee or a bottle of water is usually only 1€, not really that expensive, just courtesy really to give something back I think.
You know what it's like Hev, most people want something for nothing. They don't care that the owner has to PAY for the internet connection. Audi TT or not.
It's the same if somebody wants to use the toilet in a bar. If I'm in Rosario and I'm bursting, I'll go in a bar and order a coffee or something, then go to the loo. It's just good manners.

Spot on woe - i don't mind paying for a coffee/beer and being able to use the toilet for my benefit, pity others don't always think like that.....

Paddster if you went to the toilet on the wifi modem you could damage your waterworks and short out the modem. Maybe thats why the internet was slow all over Caleta at the end of August. It was a bit hit and mis when I was over.
LOL Dags - yeah it was the bloody same with us the last couple of weeks - my daughter n her mate were stressing out - LOL ;D ;D

One reason NOT to have WIFI in your bar :o
Kings Arms has free wi-fi too, underneath Santander Bank
The Beach Cafe, on the prom, by the Geranious Suites, has free wi-fi. Just ask for the password.
Chaplins Montecastillo Centro now has free wi-fi for those who sing the first verse of "Bubbles" :o
