Drug bust in El Cotillo.

Last week Five Guardia Civil officers were nicked picking up a delivery of 100 Kilos of Hashish in El Cotillo.

 The five garda are in separate Lanzarote jails.  The plan was that a boat from Morocco dropped the drugs with buoys, and the locals retrieved them 100kg at a time in a Zodiac.  The garda tipped them off when there would be no boats or cars around to catch them.
They  found hundreds of kgs hidden in houses in Corralejo, but they reckon there is another 500kg still to be found in the sea off Cotillo.  Police divers are out but the garda boats are having to patrol 24 hours a day to stop local fishermen and others joining in the search!
