Thanks Glen.....I just had to 'grill' the poor girl, on what happens if we get stuck there with 'ash or something and have no where to stay and how about if Easyjet cancel lastminute and...so on...................I felt like a twerp but as it's the first time I've done seperates with the kids I was more worried.....
To think in my 'past lfe' pre kids, I would get one way tickets anywhere and hope for the best, getting jobs as I arrived anywhere !!!! How kids change us eh lol..xx

| Well done Penny, just remember at one time or another we all had to start independant booking and most of us had all the same fears you are experiencing.Trying anything for the first time is a scary thing. As soon as you have made your first "solo" trip, you will wonder what all the fuss is about. No doubt you will be on here in Dec giving help and advice to other newcomers contemplating booking seperately. |

Great news PL, you're not alone anyway as you have more reps on this forum than tommy cook could ever muster. |

The holiday reps that assisted last year emailed me earlier to wish PL all the best too. They were just getting ready for the beach and said many thanks for the tip about the Spanish bakery opposite Papagayo!

Well if they had it would definitely have softened the beds up! Tamarindo roundabout 'Panaderia'.....something or other it's called, next door to Tiffany's cafe. You'll become familiar with that establishment as it's also excellent. Anyway it's a non healthy option and sometimes (i.e. every day for the reps) it's a must have visit for the wonderous cakes. Tiffany's, (the next door cafe) provides a brilliant service for packed lunches. They rent you a cool box stuffed with goodies for the beach and they are very reasonable too. |

funny you lot. can't stop laughing.......me thinks that's your secret hareem Andi lol.......
You're all so right too...............what is the worst thing that can happen ? Dreaded Ash ? and then we might be forced to stay another week ? whoopeeeeeeeeeeeee, I'll be knocking on one of your doors and asking if there's any room at the Inn lol.... 2 wks instead of one, thing I could handle that lol..
Can't wait now...Primark here we come lol ...
Never did get the tent down ( remember the pop up )...no jokes....although it was funny.. In the end I took it back to B & M and swapped it for another one with those thin rods through.....
Don't care now, the pods in El Cotillo will do us fine......
Got private transfers ( a local Co. in Fuerte ) in with the deal when I booked so I'll just hire the car for 5 days.........
Sorry to be so long winded but as you can see, just like last year we are all really excited now and still 4 months to go......

Great news, I presume that will be EJ's flight on 29th November. As I said previously we're on that one so if you need a hand or several.... Did you do priority boarding? It wouldn't matter if you didn't as with Jen you would be boarding in the second group anyway. Steph going to the footie? Fixtures will be out soon hope for her they're home when you are out!

Yes remember you saying the dates, that's why I did my best to do the same..JJ...bring that ' lucky octopus ' with you that got the predictions right, we might need him/her ? Need 4 pairs of hands for our Jen and clever tactics.....lol...................well that and a few spoons of Phenegan...!!!...
Considered the priority boarding but have been advised that if loads book 'priority' there's still a chance we'd be hanging around and Jen's wouldn't cope with the queuing etc... In negotiations with E/J re Jen's disabilities and 'Disabled Priority Boarding and Medical Seats etc ' they are getting back to me.
Would have loved the two weeks but that's pushing it..money wise...we'll settle for the one week and be grateful......
Yeh, Steph's hoping the footie's on too........this National team havn't left us much to celebrate or our local team for that matter so as we cheered Spain on a few weeks ago, think her Allegiances will be with 'Corrie' lol....oh yeh, that and the good looking guys playin ha ha............
Jen's packed......bucket and spade and her spongebob towel !!! what more does a girl need ?????? Look out 'Ay Cotiyo' Jen's on her way.
I'm just looking forward to chilling in 'Paradise' after another traumatic/hectic year..the car saga took it's toll over the 6 months it was happening and with building work starting on at the end of August for some disabled adaptions, we'll be more than ready for our hol..
speak soon PL x |

| Hi PL - I had offered you and your girls our house in Villaverde for your holiday if you just covered bills and just thought it a bit odd to have had no reply. Never mind, you seem very excited about your holiday and I hope you have just as good a time this year. It might have been a bit too quiet for you anyway! |

| I agree about the Priority Boarding - we don't use it but there were more passengers in the PB queue than those that had not booked it. I wonder if and when they call a halt to accepting PB bookings - probably never! so the whole plane could be PB! |

Aw sorry HH, that was a very nice offer, thanks, you're very kind x
That's exactly what I thought about priority boarding..................even if the cut off is 30......50.........there's still a queue and scramble for best seats ? doesn't make sense to me.....
Fuerte is the best..on our return, they allocated us a 'disability helper' as soon as we got in the airport and he took us to the front of the check in queue, then took us to be at the front near the gate and when our flight was called her escorted us, as the first passengers to board..........really helpful,, but saying that, the Thomsons rep went in to the airport and called him over and explained our Jens needs. I think what I need is to carry a card, translated into Spanish, with Jens disabillity and needs explained to show people ? |
