Called in late the other evening and had a quick beer.  Seems a Galician inspired menu.  Hoping to go for a few tapas in the next few days, but were very impressed with the sympathetic restoration, plus a few additions i.e. a retractable awning across the open air area.

Did try a new Tapas bar across the road from Mare Alta near the T shirt shop called Kalima.

Thanks for the update. Sounds encouraging so far. Look forward to more info, once you`ve tried the nosh.

Well gave it a go last night.  Perhaps our expectations were a tad high, but we make a habit of not posting negative reviews regarding dining as there are so many variables.  Our opinion of last night was that the food we chose was OK but a tad expensive and the service was lacking any kind of rapport.  This is not to say that we won't give it another shot but would be interested to hear someone elses opinion.

Thanks for the last post. Can you give any price indication? Not back out for a few weeks but will try to give it a go then.

We gave it another go with tapas which were reasonable i.e avocado salad and a russian salad, but thought the garlic prawns at 12 euros were a little on the expensive side as was the beef stew at 17 euros, and calamari at 15 euros, but we didn't try the last two so not sure on the portion size.  Will be interested on other peoples opinions.  Yet again not the most welcoming of staff...perhaps two bad days in a row!

Thanks for the extra info. Not sure if our budget will stretch to those prices, bearing in mind we`d normally order 4-5 tapas to share. Has it been busy in there on the visits you`ve made? Any indication if the proprietors/staff have come from other restaurants in Cotillo? Shame they`ve not been a bit more welcoming as it`s a fresh business.
Won`t be out for a few weeks but will have a closer look then.
Cheers

Tried Marealta and we werent impressed at all. I tried the goat panadilla? for â,¬ 3 it was a rip off. Avocado salad was good but didnt particularly enjoy the rest. Disappointed

Popped in for a beer. Was charged 8 Euro for 2 large Estrella Galicia & not in as good a condition as that usually served in Tosho. Seemed a bit steep. Place was very busy & seemed to be like that most nights. Interior has maintained a similar style to the old Luca days, but there are now some tables outside in the square. Didn`t try the food so can`t comment on that.
