Moving to the Island with Pets

Hi there

After many years of holidaying on the island I am thinking of relocating with my family to the island on a permanent basis.  I have been looking at properties in the Caleta area however I have heard a few stories of pets being killed or dying in mysterious circumstances in one area there and this would need to be something I checked out in more detail before making any decisions.

Does anyone know of anywhere I could obtain further information on this (for example local government or police) as it would obviously be a deciding factor in any choice made should the stories be true.
