Satellite TV

I have satellite TV which picks up various German programmes as well as Spanish TV. What would I need to do to pick up UK programmes a different LNB / receiver etc.
There is currently no Wi-Fi in property.
Any help would be appreciated.

You currently have a dish aligned to 19.2 degrees east (astra 1) and would need a dish aligned to 28.2 degrees east (astra 2). The astra 1 signal is stronger so you probably have a 60-80 cm dish. For astra 2 you would need 1.1 mtr dish. However Astra 2 has 2 beams (euro and UK) the euro beam predominantely carries most of the SKY subscription channels and some basic free channels (Sky news, pick etc) to Get BBC,ITV etc on astra 2 you would need a dish in excess of 5 mtrs (approx cost 20,000â,¬).
There is another source for getting BBC1,2,ITV1,C4,Five,Film4 which requires a 1.2mtr dish and only certain types of receiver can de-scramble the signal (not meant for public use so technically illegal but hey-ho). How long this signal will be around nobody knows. If you need more in-depth info then PM. Be very careful of what the cowboys out there will tell you.

The other system mentioned above is satback, the back up satellite for the bbc and small amount of other UK terrestial channels. UKTV in Caleta will supply and install a system for â,¬325. If you know what your doing you can do it cheaper yourself. You need a minimum 1.2 dish paired with a Technomate TM-5402 HD M3 CI super+ satellite receiver (make sure it is this exact model and not an M2), about â,¬95 from Amazon or usually go for £40 to £50 second hand on ebay.
Dish alignment is not too difficult as long as you set the receiver not just to the satellite but also to the exact transponder when you align it. You will also need the code to programme the receiver to be able to get satback. Details of satellite location and code easily available on line. If you don't know what you are doing pay the â,¬325 and sit back and enjoy. Again as mentioned above there is no guarantee how long satback will continue, but views that it might disappear when the BBC contract to use the transponder was due for renewal last year have to date been unfounded.
