Tindaya - Thank goodness the wind eventually eased off. Thursday's breeze has been moderate and danced around between S & W. New windsock fitted as previous one shredded overnight! Lovely to see the slopes of the mountains looking so green. It has been mainly sunny today with a few clouds around but there has been a dirty haze all day, in all directions but especially towards the sea, calima? The sound of the surf had been really loud all day so around 5pm I walked down to the cliffs to have a look - didn't hang around there as the booming was frightening my dog and I think that was around low tide!

Tindaya and Corralejo - a bright but windy day, very strong at times. Cloud moved in around 5.30pm and it looked like it was about to pour down but only a few spots. Wind died right down during the evening.

Great Pictures MLA just show the effects the sea can have and the changes it can make in a short period of time.

Caleta the wind picked up again yesterday afternoon but it was quite warm when we went for our walk around 3.30 / 4pm, forecast was not quite right in that I thought there was a lot more cloud most of the day and by 7pm full grey cloud cover and it rained.

1.40pm

Walk and sunset (5.55pm) pictures

This morning grey cloud cover and very breezy so no condensation, last nights rain puddles are still evident, temperature not bad at 17C

7.25am

Todays Caleta forecast -
Currently supposed to be partly sunny, no way!! Partly cloudy sunny / cloudy until 2pm to 5pm when we have a 51 to 60 % chance of a shower, temperature to reach 23C at 1pm.
Wind from SW until 4pm then moving WSW fro rest of day, speeds of up to 39Km/h at midday dropping off to 13Km/h by 9pm so fairly windy day in store again.

1pm - Had a few heavy showers already so if the risk is higher 2 to 5pm then we are in for a good down pour this afternoon 😏😏😏,  quite warm even without the sun currently 23C.

Caleta -

How wrong yesterdays forecast was and the afternoon turned out different to forecast and was very pleasant particularly from about 4pm

3pm

4.55pm & 6.30pm

This morning flat calm 14c and some condensation at 7.30am with mainly clear sky

Todays forecast -

Mostly sunny morning with clear sunny sky from midday temperature up to 23c at 2pm UV factor of up to 6 at 12noon, no rain forecast.
Wind from the NW this morning moving W early afternoon currently 6Km/h increasing to 15Km/h this afternoon dropping again this evening to 7Km/h

Tindaya - Oh what a beautiful morning! and afternoon, and evening...................
A glorious hot sunny day with little or no breeze. Took my buggy down to the coast this afternoon.

8.15am looking NW:

8.20am looking S:

mid - late afternoon:

water sitting in barranco becoming stagnant and the surface is alive with wee beasties  :o

approaching 7pm:

There are no shops at our local beaches so everything is brought there by visitor's cars, so why oh why can't they take their rubbish away again? This is just the stuff that stayed near the 'bin' - an awful lot had been blown around or plundered by the ravens. The Ayuntamiento could help by providing better facilities but all visitors, local and tourists, need to take personal responsibility. (Sorry, rant over.)

Caleta - 12noon so a bit late today as it appears there has been a site issue as neither John R or I could get in.

Today started with some cloud to the east over the sea a little breeze no condensation, 14C at 7.30am, been mostly sunny during the morning and it appears to be clearing for a nice afternoon currently 34c in the sun. Wind is from the WNW for the rest of the afternoon now quite windy at high 30'sKm/h going to ease from 4pm down to 9Km/h at midnight.

El Cotillo...

Over the last few days it has been warm with a gentle breeze, (hot in the sun out of the breeze). Today sunny all day, but more breezy than yesterday.

A fuller report tomorrow now that the Forum is back online.

Tindaya - a beautiful day; the forum is back online and the sun shone all day! A light breeze kept things comfortable - strange that it is still from S or W, thought it would have reverted to the normal N/E by now.

Hi from Caleta and great to be back reporting the weather from here which for the last couple of days has been great.

Thanks to Martin & Tamara for the updates from their end.

With the strange wind still from S and SW means there is slightly less plane noise as they are taking off this way and appear to be higher rather than the usual slower lower landing that happens the majority of the time.

Yesterdays sunrise
6.53am

7.20am

At 5.45 this morning it a clear starry sky overhead and 17c with no condensation, but that may change as dawn breaks.

Todays Caleta forecast -

Mostly or partly sunny all day with the temperature reaching a heady 25C with a UV factor of up to 7 at midday.
Wind from the W in the morning up to 17Km/h moving to WNW & NW from midday  with speed increasing during the afternoon getting to 26Km/h early evening and easing slightly 8pm as it moves NNW

Another nice day in store.

Tides etc. - Sat  10/03/2018
Sunrise  07:10 h
Sunset   19:00 h
01:23 h Low tide 0,92_m
07:43 h High tide 1,60_m
14:00 h Low tide 0,95_m
20:23 h High tide 1,64_m

Hi Tamara
You asked me to post some photos of my excursion to Tindya, Villaverde and Lajares a few days ago (report missing since server move)

The SD card has been damaged or corrupted somehow and I can't access the photos but here is a short film of the windmills that I shot with a drone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCaWyHimJfA&feature=youtu.be

Hope you enjoy it
