I wish I could say the same here John. Only a few spells of sunshine this afternoon, mainly cloudy accompanied with wind.

Thanks John for Caleta post whilst we were on Gran Canaria, it looks like the wind has been the dominate factor based on the debris and sand to clear up on our patio.

Back on the weather post for 26 days from tomorrow morning if John wants to hand over the riens.

Tindaya and Corralejo - wind, wind and more wind. Lots of sun though and late afternoon loads of cloud moved in. Out at sea to the west a really low, dense, dark layer of cloud created a false sunset. Shower just started in Tindaya, temp 12C.

A Calima Has Arrived - a time when suspended dust is in the air brought in by a wind from the Sahara Desert. Visibility is reduced and temperatures increase. A Yellow Alert for this weather condition is in place. Those with chronic breathing difficulties such as asthma, are particularly affected. You are advised to keep windows and doors closed, don't forget to use your medication, drink plenty of fluids and do not over exert yourself.

El Cotillo... The forecast is for a warm day with hazy sunshine. The hazy sunshine and poor visibility is due to calima, which John pointed out in his previous post. If you don't mind exposure to fine dust, this should be a good beach day, once any overnight cloud has burnt off.

The wind will be moderate dropping to gentle by mid afternoon. Direction, south easterly and offshore. Speeds, 20mph midday, 8mph at 6.00pm. Temperatures expected in the high 20's.

Tides:
5:52 AM            Moonset
6:10 AM      0.26 meters   (0.85 ft)   Low Tide
7:23 AM            First Light
7:50 AM            Sunrise
12:23 PM      2.13 meters   (6.99 ft)   High Tide
5:18 PM            Moonrise
6:27 PM      0.32 meters   (1.05 ft)   Low Tide
8:11 PM            Sunset
8:36 PM            Last Light
