El Cotillo... A remote report to start the month off. The outlook is for a clear sunny day, with any overnight cloud burning off during the morning. There will be a fresh northerly cross/shore wind averaging 17mph. Temperatures expected in the high teens.

Weather back in the UK has recently been cold and wet. I think we returned here a month too early.

Tides:
2:53 AM      2.35 meters   (7.71 ft)   High Tide
6:48 AM            First Light
7:14 AM            Sunrise
8:24 AM            Moonset
9:01 AM      0.13 meters   (0.43 ft)   Low Tide
3:10 PM      2.36 meters   (7.74 ft)   High Tide
8:31 PM            Sunset
8:56 PM            Last Light
9:21 PM      0.16 meters   (0.52 ft)   Low Tide
10:00 PM            Moonrise

Good morning from a reasonably bright Caleta.

The weather over past 5/6 days has been dominated by the wind, temps have been in the mid 20,s most days and despite there being a fair amount of cloud it has been mostly sunny but very windy.

Yesterday started cloudily and breezy, but by 13:00 cloud had mostly cleared, temp at 24 C. at 14:00 but still windy.

18:30

Temp 22 C. but wind Northerly at 22/24 Mph made it feel more like 16/18 C.

Today.

07:30 probably the brightest start for some weeks.

Temp. 19C.

Wind. Northerly 17/18 Mph.

Visibility. Very Good

Humidity. 69%

Sea. A 3/4 Ft swell.

UV. 9.

Forecast:-  A sunny day with some cloud, temp to reach mid 20,s wind to ease slightly 13/15 Mph. by late afternoon, the best part of the day to be between 12:00 and 17:00

I flew home today after 10 days on the island.  I have to say it's been the worst weather I've ever experienced in April, and I don't think I'll come again in April.  I had 3 nights in the south to start with, where I got rained off the beach 2 days running.  Then moved up to Corralejo, which was predominantly cloudy and with a bitterly cold northerly wind.  Had to put the heating on in the apartment in the evenings!

I think the weather this last winter has been the worst & longest on record. I wouldn’t say it is typical of the weather patterns in the area & may be a while before a bad spell like that is seen again. I wouldn’t write April off yet bedouin 😁😁

Understand what you're saying but, quite apart from the money, I don't really want to spend holiday time if I can't be reasonably certain of decent weather.  I'll either go later, or go long-haul.

Tindaya - a gorgeous day! Wind dropped to a light breeze, N or NW, although still a bit of a chill to it. However the sun seemed warmer than of late so a very nice day all round. So nice I got the buggy out and went down to the coast for a couple of hours this afternoon. (Several jellyfish washed up.) Almost total cloud cover moved in from the NW by sunset.

Tindaya - some strange clouds first thing this morning with little breeze. Cloud mainly cleared giving a bright, sunny day but the breeze picked up again, became quite blustery and was chilly at times. Plenty of cloud reappeared later in the day.

Tindaya - despite what the pics show there was actually a lovely lot of sunshine during the day, I just forgot to snap it! Very cloudy start and finish, few spits of rain, constant cold northerly wind but if you could find a sheltered spot it was pretty warm.

Hi John, where did you take the 3rd pic from? great view!

Tindaya - grey start, middle and finish! The cloud broke up a little for about an hour late afternoon but soon filled the sky again. Consequently the majority of the day was not very warm with a blustery N or NW wind.

Sorry, I am so late, Airport again, I am afraid it is going to be a bit hit and miss this week, as I have a lot on.

Yesterday, A better day than forecast, the cloud cleared more than forecast, and temps reached mid 20s, and if you could get in the sun and out of the wind it was very pleasant, the wind did ease a little, but not as much as forecast and it clouded over again late afternoon, and by 17:30 there was complete cloud cover, and then by 19:00, it had started to break up again and it was a very pleasant evening.

Today
A grey start complete cloud cover at 07:30, but started to break up around 09:30, and cloud cover is currently 50%.

Temp. 22C.

Wind. Northerly 8/10 Mph.

Humidity. 58%

Visibility. Very Good.

Sea. a 2/3 ft swell

Uv 8

Forecast:- a mix of sunshine and cloud temp to be mid 20,s C, wind to move N/Easterly before moving N/Westerly early evening, but not to increase in strength

Tindaya - a very gloomy start with wall to wall low grey cloud and drizzle. Cloud didn't start to break up until 11am - it was then pretty hot in bursts between clouds, steady breeze from NW had a bit of chill in it. Cloud joined up again early evening. I wasn't in a position to see the actual sunset (in local bar watching Real Madrid v Barcelona, learning to swear Majorero style!) but I saw a burst of glorious golden light at 8.30pm and popped out for a couple of quick pics.

Caleta.

Yesterday, Very much as forecast, a sunny day with a fair amount of cloud, Temp reached 25C. and out of what was not a very strong wind it was a very nice day.

Today.

At 07;15 it appeared to be a very bright start, lots of blue sky, at what cloud there was, was high and light, it has since clouded over to give almost complete cloud cover.

08:30

Temp. 19C.

Wind N/Westerly 6/8 Moh

Humidity 63%.

Visibility. Very good.

sea. A 2/3 Ft swell.

UV. 8.

Forecast:- Cloud to start to break up mid-morning leaving a fairly clear afternoon temp to reach mid 20,s, wind to move Northerly early afternoon and increase 12/14Mph.

The BBC are forecasting drizzle, but that seems to be their default forecast for the last 4/5 Says, and no othersite is. { Depends how much ytou trust The BBC ::) }

Tindaya - not much change, basically cloud, cloud and more cloud. A few brief respites here and there where the sun shone and the sky was blue but it didn't last long. Wind still had a chill to it, brisk and changeable between N & W. Not particularly warm.

Caleta.

Very much as forecast, the cloud cleared late morning leaving a reasonable afternoon, where temps reached 25 C but the wind made it feel more like 20 C, the cloud started to build again around 17:30.

But around 19:00 as it did on Sunday, it started to break up again, making it a reasonably pleasant evening, except of course for the wind.

Today.

07:00

A breezy grey start.

08:15

Still no sign of blue sky.

Temp. 18C.

Wind. Northerly 14/15 Mph

Humidity. 68%

Visibility. Very Good.

Sea. A 2/3 Ft swell

UV. 9.

Forecast:- Temp to reach low to mid 20,s the cloud to start to clear mid-morning, wind to remain as is through the day, and as yesterday, the best part of the day to be early afternoon to early evening.

Much as forecast except the cloud did not clear, it partially cleared around 19:30, but not a pleasant day.

Today

A very cloudy start.

Temp. 19C.

Wind. Northerly 12/14 Mph

Humidity. 63%.

Visibility. Very good.

Sea. a 2/3 ft swell

UV. 8.

Forecast:- The day to be a repeat of yesterday, temp in the low 20,s possibility of some sunny spells this afternoon, wind to move n/easterly early afternoon.

looking forward there does not appear to be much change for the next couple of weeks  :(
