Post by: MalT on March 03, 2018, 11:39:03 AM
Have property in furteventura, live here about 6 months a year, have NIE numbers, pay local taxes, would I qualify for residency? If so, how would I apply? And what are benefits? Thanks

Afternoon Mal

I am not sure of exactly how long you have to live on The Island to become a resident, but I guess they would want something more than " about six months" the advantages as I see them and applicable in my case are
We do not pay bank charges, we get a reduced water bill, we get reduced travel costs between The Islands and The Mainland and most importantly, I am a taxpayer in Spain and not The UK.

If you spend more than 90 days here then you are obliged to have a residencia certificate.
