A Yellow Alert in place for high winds tomorrow and Wednesday.  Rain on Thursday :o

Captain Sensible

A very strong SE wind this morning.  It has dropped, but it's very murky now.

Tenerife has got a Red Alert for torrential rain tomorrow, and there's an Orange Alert here for Thursday.

It could be a strange few days here.

Captain Sensible

High white cloud about this morning.  Very windy from the SE.

Captain Sensible

Grey and windy.  21 degrees.  There's just been a light rain shower in Caleta.

A press report from Tenerife:

deluges of up to 180 litres per square metre in just 12 hours – 18 centimetres, or just over seven inches – have hit most of its coastal and inland areas, with up to 60 litres (six centimetres or just over two inches) seen in an hour at one point, plus in Tijrafe, around 20 litres per square metre (two centimetres, or one inch) in barely two hours.

The Canarian regional government shut all schools today except for those in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, which are not suffering to quite the same extent as the rest of the islands.

Captain Sensible

The storm seems to have passed :D

The wind has dropped and the sun is coming out! 8)
