Set just metres from the beach and on the stunning Costa Calma, these cheerful apartments with private balconies have use of a fantastic outdoor pool and a restaurant-bar.

"Our first time in Fuerteventura, me, my girlfriend and her friend stayed in the Althay at the end of May 11  (My best friend should have been coming too, but they split up a few months before). We arrived just after 11 on the saturday night. We were checked in, showed to our rooms overlooking the pool, and then told to come back to the bar as they had made some sandwiches for us, and allowed us to have a few drinks.

Rooms were massive for 2 people, and while a bit dated were spotless, and had been recently painted, were much better than we expected. Food on the all inclusive was fine, always something to eat, and always tasty. Dining room can get a bit hot tho, but there was some air conditioning in there which wasn't on while we were there. Drink was great. Soft drinks, wine, sangria and beer were all self service, so never a queue for the bar, spirits were available at the bar, tho you could help yourself if busy, and cocktails after 9.00pm til 11pm. While it states that the all inclusive finishes at 11, you could usually get served until around 11.45pm.

Pool area was nice, while not massive, never seemed overly busy. Evening entertainment was make your own, and we met some really nice people from all over the UK, and even most of the Germans were ok lol. There was a big plasma telly in the reception area, and Antonio would happily put any big sporting event on there if you asked, including the English Premier League games.

The places main attraction though, was the staff. All were happy, worked like trojans, and went out of their way to make sure you had a good holiday. Special mention must go to Andrea, who usually was on the bar, and helped served meals. She was always happy, polite, and loved her work, helping create a great atmosphere in the place.

Resort itself was dead, with nothing to do, which suited us fine as we just wanted a cheap chillout. Would we go back? As soon as we find a cheap flight, we'll be there!!!!

A gem of a place on a gem of an island!"

That was from my review on tripadvisor a couple of years ago.  We have since been back for a 2nd time, and was every bit as good as the first.  We had also booked for a 3rd stay, but had to cancel due to illness.

Hoping to stay here again in 2015
