Hi I have posted many times on this forum, its kind of like a fuerteventura lifeline.  I am from South Ireland and have been to Caleta many times, and back again this August 11th, so look out for the 3 white Irish in the Flower of Scotland bar :), we would love to meet some more wonderful people, plans are to hopefully spend more time there when the kids can fend for themselves (if that ever happens)  ;D

Hi there - I used to be just MAGGIEB but couldn't get back in as that -they  had my old email addy and I can't remember it!!  Old age - don't ask! so I've re-registered - don't get back to the island at all now, travelling isn't on my agenda, but I do like to dip in now and then just to see wot's occurring. ;)  We had a place at Costa Golf 1 - Brightspark won't remember us, but his mum might and we remember Woody, dumped some of our cupboard stuff on him before we left!  So please pass on my best to Sandy., hope she is well.   Good to see some of the 'old' names are still in circulation!   xxxxx
Title: Re: Newbies - Please introduce yourselves here >>> TONY MAC
Post by: TonyMac on September 11, 2012, 16:23:36 pm
Hi,
my name is Tony Mac and I lived on the island for many years before moving to Tenerife. My first bar was within the Montecastillo Centre, Caletta, known as 'Tony Macs Bar' (now Chaplins)

Since leaving Feurteventura, I owned bars in Tenerife (including bthe famous 'Talk of the Town') and a group of pubs in the UK (The Best Pub Company)

I am interested in maybe opening a 'large' theatre style bar (indoors or outdoors) in Feurteventura, in which I could put on large theatre style productions and entertainment. The venue would need to have good foot-flow and would be FREE to visit.

I would be interested in hearing from those on the island that may have ideas of locations suitable for such a venture - that would produce around 30 jobs on the island.

I can be contacted by email - tm@tonymurray.co.uk

THANK YOU

Tony Mac

Post by: Can the Man on September 12, 2012, 13:19:20 pm
Hi Tony,

I love your idea/concept, it would make for great entertainment, however, on a personal note I don't think you will get the required footfall.

The hotels and their 'All Inclusives' has ruined a lot of the local businesses  :'( - little restuarants and bars that had the personal service, where the owners got to know the patrons and the patrons would come back year after year and also tell their friends about it.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't live in Fuerte, but I do own an apt. in Caleta, and visit about 4 times a year, I also like to visit the noth (Corrie) and south (Jandia - Morro Jable) everytime I visit and always try support the local bussiness with my custom. I have been coming here for the last 8 or 9 years and even before the economic recession hit the Island I have seen the numbers drop off.

Who knows, maybe your venture is just what the island needs to attract more visitors who will spend money.

Good luck, and I look forward to reading more about your venture.

I'm happy, coz here I hope I can meet a lot of people, with experience and good advices.

Hello everybody,

I'm Penny and this is my first day on the forum. I have been visiting Fuerteventura 2 or 3 times a year with my husband for several years now but I am recently divorced and will be visiting on my own from here on. I just love the beaches and the Corralejo Dunes are my favourite resting place. Although it is going  to feel strange being on my own, I am the confident type and am determined to carry on enjoying my favourite beaches and making a new life for myself.

Welcome lonesome dove, and just remember teh old saying,

Strangers are only friends I have not met yet.  :-*

Hi everyone

I moved to La Oliva in September with my husband and two young children, we are absolutely loving it.  I have recently launched my own cake business, I make celebration cakes, everyday cakes and cupcakes :)

We are embracing the Spanish lifestyle and enjoying every minute of learning the language and encouraging our children to do the same.  We have been welcomed into the local community and our 4 year old is loving the local school.

Thanks to all who have taken the time to help us settle :)

Hi
We will be going to F. for the first time in Jan. Have previously been to G. C. and Ten. We travel not for the beach, but to experience the local culture and food. V. interested in landscapes and history. We are 'Fair Trade' travellers in that we want to spend our money with the locals rather than with internat. companies. We have visited over 30 countries

We will be staying in Lajares and touring in a car hired from Cabrera Medina

Always plan our hols ourselves and the last three have been via a site that lists 320,000 properties. http://www.homeaway.co.uk/ (http://www.homeaway.co.uk/)

We live in the center of York and own and run a successful guest house.

Hi all!

We're Alan and Helen, and although we live in the UK we've visited Fuerteventura afew times over the past 15 years or so - with our boys as they've been growing up, and most recently just the two of us. We've 'done' the other islands out there and we also love Mallorca in the summer, but Fuerteventura just has that certain something that makes it a bit more special....and its not just the weather! I've already been able to take early retirement from my long-term career and Helen (a nurse) can do the same within the next year, so we are thinking very seriously about a move to the island. Must have read every single article going on the economic situation, agonised over all the advice re buy/rent/keep a UK place, but the bottom line is that for at least 5 months of the year the UK is just too darned cold, wet and miserable.... and if we get another summer as bad as 2012..! Anyway, we we came back from a December visit more convinced than ever, so we're back again in early March for a bit more of a serious look.

This site is excellent, and its great to pick up info from those a bit more in the know about living in Fuerteventura. Been following it for while, but thought it would be good to 'sign up'!

Hello.
A newbie to this forum, but not a newbie to this island. My husband and I have been coming here since....the only place to buy petrol in Fuste, was from a pump down on the harbour and instead of half finished apartments, chipmunk mountain had chipmunks.
We've seen lots of changes, sadly many of them for the worst, but stil we love this place, visiting spring and autumn.

We felt so much better for being on the island during the English winter (I have some spinal problems as well as arthritis) that we are buying a place in El Cotillo.  We had been planning on renting, but that now appears to be a potential minefield, so we probably won't bother & simply keep the place for ourselves & family.

I may well run photography courses - once I have checked out a lot of photogenic spots, which won't take too long on FV!  Also hoping to find some friendly boat owners who will be happy to take me along on fishing trips in exchange for money / working on the boat / a few pints or whatever.

Would be happy to hear from any Brits in El Cotillo, Roque, or the surrounding area.  Are there any walking / photography / general social groups in that part of the island?

I am finding this forum a valuable source of information - my thanks to all who have replied to my questions so far!!   ;D

Can't find an appropriate thread, but would like to ask people's opinions on different resorts. A couple of years ago we stayed in Corralejo and absolutely loved it.  We are thinking of returning to the island later this year and though about Calleta de Fuste.  What do people think?

We have been holidaying in Tenerife for many years and had intended to retire there at some point, but on our one visit to Fuerteventura, we are rethinking our future. Any pros and cons for us please?

Oh and Welcome to the Forum !
Hi everyone my name is Yvonne, Been to Caleta De Fuste on holiday for the past few years. My Aunt has a small villa so it's always been a case of cheap flights and away we go!!!
My parents have been coming for years and recently for longer periods as they have both retired.
They absolutely love Caleta and are thinking of settling on a permanent basis next year. I would  also love to make a more permanent move and would welcome any advice... How easy is it to obtain work in Caleta and what type of work is mainly available for both myself and partner ??   We're both in our early 40's

Many thanks

There's 35% unemployment here, Yvonne (more than in mainland Spain), and that means an awfully long queue for every job, which in turn results in average pay rates that are abysmally low. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but you do need to have a very solid way of maintaining yourself sorted out before coming over to live.

Great to hear you enjoy your hols so much: maybe better to settle for that than to ditch what you've got and risk failure here. It is sad to see the number of dreams that get shattered, often resulting in divorce as the stress eats at the relationship.

Hi everyone.

We are popping over to the island next month for a few days, bit of business & pleasure.  We have been residents of the Canaries for the past 8/ 9 years (live on Gran Canaria) and fell in love with your island earlier this year.  We are staying in Corralejo but plan to do a tour of the island. We love to experience any local fiestas/customs/events that take place, not into partying nowadays, been there done that,  bodies are slightly worn but we are still very young at heart.  Much prefer lounging around on the beach on a weekend with a nice cold beer not too far away.  Are there any events happening between 10 - 14th July? Any bars in Corralejo that have live music?  Thanks.

Hi, We have been going to Fuerteventura for fifteen years now. We  have a house at Costa Antigua, and try to get there two or three times a year.  However, as we are from Northern Ireland, our bigest problem is getting to Fuerte! Some of your members are complaining about expensive and delayed flights; the only flights from NI (autumn & winter only) were cancelled completly last year! We now have to travel to Dublin to get a flight! Are there any other NI folk who have this problem?
We love the island, and hope to spend more time there when we retire, (in the not too distant future). We came across your site by accident, and think it is great. We discovered, for example, that when the Town Hall raided our bank account earlier in the year,  they were taking the taxes early. No one (not even the accountant), was able to tell us about this, but thanks to your site, we found out what had happened!

Hello, I'm not sure that I am doing this correct but here goes.

I'm Wendy and my husband and I are planning on going to the Barcelo Castillo beach resort some time in Feb or March 2014.
We have never been to this part of the world before. We went to Lloret de Mar way back in the 80's and to a resort in Malaga  for a long weekend in the 90's other than that most of our holidays have been in the USA.
We are looking forward to the holiday and some winter sun :)

Visited twice Caleta before but not for a few years. First time was up near Halfway House, second was a lot nearer the front with the  Barcelos.

We enjoy the sun and the slower pace of life.

Hi all, I'm Phil and a young 59, I've been using the forum for the last year and would like to thank everyone for their valuable input! I first visited Fuerte three years ago with my daughter and her family after my wife was taken by the big C. We stayed at the club princess in Esquinzo and had a lovely time, although I hadn't really 'Discovered' the island. I visited as a solo traveller to see how I would get on in July 2012 for two weeks staying in the Best Age Costa Calma and fell in love with the island! I have since returned 6 times and can't get enough, I return to the same adults only hotel and am really friendly with the staff who consider me part of the family, such lovely people! I am looking at ways to move or at least have my own base in the south and would love to hear from people with similar expectations.

Hi Everyone!
My husband and myself fell in love with fuerteventura from our first visit 3 years ago,we are planning and preparing to move over when were in a position to do so,we have 3 daughters eldest at uni and twins of 16 that have just started college,so when they are on their feet etc we plan to move along with our 2 Boston Terriers but sadly think it will be wise to rehome my 3 cats.
My husbands a Sales Manager and I work in Retail Merchandiser etc,we visit Fuerte 2/3 times a year( never enough!) we plan to come over for 3 months to get a taster etc, problem being my husband has been a SalesManager for over 15 years(double glazing) tut tut,and is considered by many the best,so need to find work etc,I have my down days where I just want to move now but have to give myself a shake and be realistic, being in our early forties we still have time but would like to be in Fuerteventura way before I'm 50! As you can see I can ramble on! So I will leave it at this point ;D

Hi Everyone
We have been visiting Fuerteventura frequently since around 1998. At long last we are buying an apartment in El Cotillo. At first we will use it for short breaks, then long winter stays when we retire.
Although it is exciting, I am also finding it a bit challenging. Mainly because of not speaking the language and dealing with officialdom!
We are staying in our apartment for the first time in December and looking forward to choosing all the new things we will need.
Here's hoping to make lots of new friends.

Welcome Jane and Martin, I hope you got a good solicitor to handle your purchase, it is essential in my opinion to get one that speaks good english.

If you need the name and contact details of one, send me a pm and I will send you my solicitors details. I would not like to be accused of illegal advertising  ;)

The wife and I have been visiting Caletta for the last 10 years or so, at least once a year, sometimes 2 or 3 times. Absolutely love the place and intend to semi retire out there when the time comes, although that will be 20 years from now  :D

We stay up at the Elite, we bought a couple of weeks timeshare up there, in the suites, not the dodgy ones up the other end. That was quite interesting as we went to them looking for one, they wren't really sure how to take that, as that was the time when the touts were about  :o

Hi
I'm new to the forum although not new to Fue, having visited there on many occasions.  I'm seriously thinking of buying a place in Costa Antigua but would appreciate if anyone can advise more about the area.  I normally stay in Caletta and often walk up there.  I am a female on my own (nearing retirement) so really need to know how safe the area is for someone in my position.

I love the island and would dearly love to live there.  Any advice would be most welcome.

Thanks for your help

I've been to Feurte a dozen time but mainly stayed in Corrie and ventured to El Cotillo.

Maxie will be arriving as usual mid March but intends heading south this year rather than the annual trip to Corrie.  Plan is one night Rosario followed by 4 in Costa. Undecided what to for the next 6 days. Gratefully appreciate any advice from females especially those with a liberally minded twin sister and whose parents own a pub.

Hi All,

Been lurking on the forum for a few weeks and have finally decided to register and introduce myself.

I'm in my mid forties and lucky to have some flexibility as to where I spend a fair portion of my time. For the last year I've been looking for a winter bolt-hole within the EU and next week hope to complete the purchase of a small apartment in El Cotillo.

Apart from a day trip from Lanzarote earlier in the year I had never been to the island until late September when I travelled out for a week specifically to view this particular apartment and its location. Clearly I liked what I saw. Can't quite believe it myself ...

I'm keen to get to know people on and off these boards and to get to know the island a bit better ! I'm going to need all sorts of advice about setting up a home on the island so will be coming here for help. First jobs include getting John the Kitchenmaster started on fitting a kitchen and shopping for some beds and basic furniture in the shops I've read about in Rosario.

Down the line will come questions about TV, internet, cars, golf and other stuff to get involved with on the island. No doubt questions about Spanish legalities, taxes and language will also crop up too. If I can be of any use myself then I promise to chip in.

But that'll do for now. Thanks for reading. Hopefully not too many of you think I'm crazy.

Cheers,

Ernie

Hello Everyone  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I thought it would be nice to say hi to everyone, as it really does look like you have a nice and friendly forum here.

We are Marc & Teresa from Sutton Coldfield, a lively happy couple fast approaching and fighting off our fifties lol

I'm (Marc) a retired Plod and Teresa is a Cancer care nurse. We are at that time in our lives when the children have fled the nest, well... fell out of it is perhaps a better description. :o and now we would like to broaden our horizons and travel.

We work most of the year in the UK and now plan to run off to warmer climes in the winter. Ultimately we would love to relocate hence our seek and explore mission.

It has been really interesting reading peoples experiences on the forum even though I have only just registered, I frequently drop by to see whats new.

The only place I have visited in the Canaries before, was the resort of Los Gigantes around 20 years ago. I don't know if it has changed much over the years but perhaps we will get chance to find out!

Hello one and all
We are a French couple and found your forum by chance but it is with great pleasure that we present our
That, in fact, we have in recent years at least one week per year on Fuerteventura and we love this island and that is why we plan to buy a property instead. We will come one week in February 2014 and expect to visit some Corralejo property. We already make a selection via the real estate sites and taking appointments visiting
Knowing a little more south ( Jandia , Morro Jable ) , the North and Corralejo , we want to buy everything on despite Corralejo , not for rent, but for ourselves and friends and family
However, we have seen seen some interesting announcements about the sector Tamaragua (or capeliana ) , a little on the bristol area and also the area of ??new mercadona , residencial parque natural (street guirre ) and also with the plan area geafond.Pouvez you tell me more about these different areas of corralejo ?
i think that is a forum with a majority english cummunity but we are trying better explain us
Your advice and experience on the quality of life and the same structures it may be helpful before deciding .
Thank you to all

We would like to learn Spanish and we would be grateful for any advise where we could learn the language.  Also any tips on good restaurants would also be gratefully received!!.

Hi
My name's Mike and I'm about to come to Corralejo on holiday for the third year in succession at the beginning of February.
A bit of a busman's holiday as I'm a Spanish translator, but I fell in love with Spain when I first went (in 1974 - ouch) and my wife (Janet, she used to be a Spanish teacher before she retired!) and I have never tired of all things Spanish and, in the last 3 years (we'd never been to the Canaries before that) Canarian.
The weather's currently pretty unpleasant back home where we live in the UK. That's perversely good - we'll appreciate Fuerte all the more in less than two weeks. Roll on lunch at El Horno...

Hi everyone,

My girlfriend and I are returning to Corralejo for a holiday, March 19th for a week. We have fallen for the place and have hope one day, Corralejo will be where we live. We can dream!

We hope to meet some new friends this time, maybe people who have made Fuerte their home and we can gain some advice.

Hi all

We've just taken our first baby steps towards a possible permanent move to Fuerte.

We only decided to start this adventure at Christmas, so it's all happened pretty quickly.

Arrived yesterday, currently living at Lobos Golf Villa in Corralejo for the next 50 days (business means a brief 2-week return to UK at end of April), and got ourselves a car through Cicar (thanks to info found on here).

So we've got 50 days to decide whether we move on to Stage 2, specifically a year long rental. If we do that and are still happy, the final step would be buying a home here on the Island.

We've moved here from a sleepy village in Berkshire, so the relaxed pace here shouldn't be too much of a culture shock. Worse case scenario is we'll now be bored in a warmer climate  ::)

We're also fortunate in that I own a business in the UK which can be run remotely from here, so have a decent UK income to live on.

I'm a bit of a tech nerd - already have router set up here that reports us as being in the UK, so we can stream BBC iPlayer, Netflix, use Skype etc as if we still in England  - will be glad to share info as we get everything fine tuned.

We'll also be happy to share our findings on topics we are investigating (longer term alternatives to Car rental, longer term house renting etc). But be patient, we are still finding our feet, so we'll have more questions than answers for quite a while yet :)

Hi we are regular visitors to the island, out again in April when we will be on a fact finding mission as well as chilling out, planning to move to Corralejo in 2 years time when I retire.

We will be looking at renting rather than buying and have been keeping an eye on the forum for a while and also researching various aspects of moving to the island. The forum is a great source of information as you cannot beat advice from folks who have already made the move.

In particular we are having trouble getting our heads around the financial aspect, we will have pensions as well as the state pension,  income from investing the proceeds of the sale of our house in the uk, and a healthy current account balance. Is it best to transfer  funds from UK monthly, or have income paid direct into a Spanish bank?

Cheers

Hello everyone.  It feels great to be part of the Fuerteventura Forum.

I'm Jamie & I'm very excited to be moving to the Island next month with my Spanish girlfriend Davinia.

We are both Yoga Instructors.   I am also a Hypnotherapist and she is a Make-up Artist.

I'm interested in healthy vegetarian food, permaculture, eco projects, small-scale farming, low-impact buildings, scuba diving, and funny people.

My favourite food is coconut!

As soon as possible we need to buy a 125cc scooter, rent a little plot of land, and adopt a dog.... the rest will happen as and when.

For now, Ive joined your forum to get some info, and meet some people.

Looking forward to discovering a magical place.

Hello everyone, we are visiting El Cotillo this summer, it will be our first holiday to Fuerteventura.
I'm using this site to find out more about the island particularly Cotillo.
I've read great reviews about the lagoons north of the town, they look ideal for safe swimming, sunbathing and walks.
Hope it's not too windy to enjoy the beach.

Roll on June

Was Only on here for the first time yesterday to get a feel for the place we (the family) are moving to.

Its me the missus, the 4 year old one dog and one cat.

Moving to LaJares. Sometime soon. Gotta finish the sale here first. House already bought but needs attaching to services. Plenty of work to do to the property to get it how we want it (paperwork pending); Pool, Pergola, maybe a garage/shed/workshop space.

Other things to do: advice welcome:
Going to attempt to get a place for my monkey at the local preschool/nursery.
Find places to walk the dog. Apparently the beach is not allowed over there?
Get a vehicle.
Start up a company/ Find paid employment. Preferably both.
Meet people. Find places where we can hang out, eat, Drink, Play, play board games, Video games. Attempt to surf (may need armbands), Talk techie junk, History and sci fi. get back into martial arts (Tai chi and Ba Gua this time I think).

My family and I have visited this gorgeous island 8 times over the last 10 years and we absolutely love it.

We've stayed in Corralejo but prefer Costa Caleta because of its idyllic charm.

Spent our honeymoon here, staying in the Barcelo Feurteventura hotel and have nothing but praise for this island.

Hi there

I bought a house in Caleta De Fuste in April and My wife and I plus our 2 kids are moving to the Island at the end of October. We are really looking forward to the move but we are a bit apprehensive because we do not know any one there but we are looking forward to making new friends on the Island. Perhaps this Forum is a good starting point plus a good source of reliable up to date info. If anyone knows about the primary school in El Matoral, where my 9 year old son is supposed to go It would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Yassi, I've visited Fuerteventura for the last 3 years! 20+ is awesome! I found that the quiz questions disappear after you have made around 5 posts. Where about near Frankfurt? My uncle stayed near Darmstadt (Goddelau, Riedstadt) I visited there in the late 1980's and really loved the area. Have always meant to go back.

Hi All.  Well, 10 years ago me and my then boyfriend visited planning to open a gay friendly bar.  It didn't happen and here I am retired and single and looking to move to the Canaries for the weather and laid back atmosphere.  Of the islands I have visited over the last 32 years I fancy Fuerte and Corralejo as not too busy or quiet, having some Brit expats, nice nearby nudist beach etc.  Most of my hols in Canaries have been to Playa etc. but not suitable as a place to live I would be dead after a month lol.

I'm just starting my research (already have info from 10 years ago but need to update) and plan to visit this Spring to suss things out properly.  People from 10 years ago I spoke to seem to not live there anymore.

Penny of Google.com recommended this forum.

Hi all, We have just registered as we are seriously thinking of moving to the island from the UK, we are a couple in our mid fifties who are sick to the back teeth of our freezing winters (How many times have you seen this typed before!!!) we own our home & would consider selling it to buy something on the island maybe a small business to help fund our stay, we are flying over to the island in April 2015 for a week to have a look around to see where's best to stay for our winters, we would appreciate any help advice good & bad that anyone has to offer.
We were originally going to go to Tenerife but we now think that Fuerteventura is better suited to our way of life.
Please get in touch if you live on the island & thin you can help us.

Hello we are French and have a residence in Fuerteventura near Corralejo . We have noticed the very large proportion of English on this forum. This is not a concern for us, against , as a francophone , we could be isolated. I hope this forum will allow us to make new acquaintances . So do not hesitate to leave little messages , encourage us. thank you a lot

Hi everyone,my name is Daron and my wife is Nikki. We've just bought a fantastic duplex penthouse apartment in Gran Tarajal and plan to visit as much as possible. We visited in October 2015 and returned in Feb when we took title on our property. We are visiting again in May and three weeks in July/August when our two sons will be on school hols. What a lovely quiet Canarian town Gran Tarajal is with it's excellent beach, marina and restaurants and not a Union Jack flag anywhere! I've managed to source most of our wish list but wondered about wi fi providers and I'm very keen to lay my hands on a proper pool table. We've started to use this forum now and look forward to any replies. Can't wait to get back to our little bit of paradise, adios amigos.

PS - the captcha system here is one of the most ridiculous I have ever come across! Are you trying to keep people away?

Hi everyone,
My name is Julie, I am a young 51, a qualified nurse and midwife from North Wales. I have been to Fuerteventura on holiday 3 times.
Two of those holidays have been in El Cotillo, as a lone traveller, and I am going again to El Cotillo at the end of May 2016.
I absolutely love it in EL Cotillo, I see it as my spiritual home and would love to live and hopefully work there if the opportunity arose.
Nice to meet you all xx

Hi
I hope everyone is well : )
I am Chris, and my wife Sharon and I are looking to move to Fuerte within a year, in fact we fly in next week for a while with the intention of buying a home. We love the island and have been planing to move abroad for the last 6 years and decided on the Canary Islands about 2 years ago. Last year we were on Fuerteventura and we hired a car and just about covered the whole Island by road, and just fell in love with it. We are returning this time and hired a 4x4 so we can see far more of the island, and also look for our home.
I am sure this forum is going to be a huge help : ) and look forward to posting questions : )

Regards

Chris & Sharon

Hi
I've made a couple of posts previously, but thought 'd introduce myself.  I'm Chris, living in London.  Joined the forum because I hit retirement age this year, and plan to to sell-up in the UK, and move to FV.  No more cold winters sounds good to me  :).

I have been to the 3 main islands many times, but have only been to FV on a daytrip from Lanzarote!  I was struck by how many things seemed better than the other islands - topography, climate, reduced commercialisation and so on.  I expect to come out for a longer stay before I sign my life away!

Not sure I'll be able to sell-up easily in the post-Brexit turbulence.  Maybe it's more of an aspiration than a plan?  Time will tell...
Cheers,
Chris

Hi John
Apols for a slow reply.  Fly in my ointment is having to sell-up.  I'm used to getting frequent estate agents' leaflets urging homeowners to rent or sell.  Not seen any for a month or more now.  Strongly suggests the housing market is a lot slower than it was 15 (or even 3) months ago.  Worth a try, tho'.  Can always take the place off the market if it doesn't sell, and try again later.  Maybe it'll be long term renting for this winter?  But thanks for the encouragement  :)

My pleasure, and any help you need you will find on here, just ask the questions, and you will get answers.

I read an article yesterday that suggested the current housing market is as slow as it was in 23008 :o

Hi folks

We are returning to Corralejo in April after a great holiday there last year. It was one of the most chilled holidays we have ever had.

From the freedom of the beach to the great bars and places to eat. To say we're looking forward to our return is an understatement. This forum is certainly a help in getting others recommendations.

We are a couple of retired frenchies.
We came several times in Fuerteventura and we are looking for a property on the island.
Not sure where exactly yet , house or flat Corralejo or Caleta de Fuste ?
Your advice is welcome.
We also wonder whether the island is lively and busy in winter ?
Fuerteventura is not well known in france, is there a french "community"  ?

Hi there
We’d like to introduce ourselves at this very exciting time for us.
Hi all  :D

We are purchasing our holiday home in Caleta De Fuste.

We entend to use it as a holiday home at first then in about 5 years or so, will be living there full time.

We are finding it a bit of a mind field, if we rent it out a few times a year, how we go about the tax laws, we wondered if you could advise us on what to do in this situation.  :o

Does anyone have any advise for us please?
Thank you

Hope your move goes smoothly and best wishes for a very happy future in Fuerteventura.
