As a fuert lover and a plane lover i often track to flights to fuert from manchester and since the end of june every flight to fuert on a saturday afternoon has been delayed. Monarch, Thomas Cook and Thomson are always delayed being from 15mins to once over an hour. Yet other flights across the world depart ontime with the odd delay.

I flew out in july departing at 3:30 and we didnt start boarding till around 3:15 and it was the same coming back to the UK and we starting boarding 15mins before our scheduled departure.

Is this a problem with the airline or the control tower with the constant delays?

The trouble is the pilot is given a time slot for take off and if they miss it because of delayed boarding etc they have to wait for the next available slot.

I fly out on a Saturday - thanks for that  :( :(

The Monarch flight last Saturday was late owing to the aircraft being late leaving M/C to go to Faro earlier in the day and hence late back from Faro, late leaving M/C to FUE etc i.e. it never caught up the lost time.

My wife and I were at the airport on Saturday night catching the TC flight to Manchester, lucky for us ours was on time and got into Manchester 15 minutes early, 3 hours 45 minutes, whilst we were there Ryanair and two Monarch aircraft were delayed.

Mr Boo Boo

We were delayed in April flying from M/CR to Fuerto, two "late" comers boarded the plane 20 mins late, no apology or anything... should have been off loaded but then again I guess would have caused more delay...

Just a  thought:  the new breed of 'low cost' airlines slam the gate shut because departing/arriving on time is important to them as an advertised statistic.

Late departure of planes from UK is usually blamed on late arrival of incoming aircraft. I suggest that this is because at the holiday destinations Thomas Cook, Thomson, and Monarch to a lesser extent, are carrying mainly package holidaymakers ferried to the airport by company coach and no matter how late it gets the plane will be held back for them. Were they to miss the flight it would be the fault of the holiday company which then has to provide accommodation and another flight.

Not sure I agree OC, FR have a very good record of punctuality, perhaps the other airlines that are aligned to tour companies can order a plane to wait for a late coach but I can`t see Saint Michael sacrificing his record for a bus load of tourists.

Absolutely Deso - i was very happy but coming back with TC wasn't as pleasureable i admit......

I used to like TC, but they are quickly becoming a pain in the a*se to deal with, almost like they don'y want you to fly with them when one considers the various issues a lot of people including myself have had with them this last two or so years.

Leg room is terrible, cancelling a flight next year on me after booking the Villa, charging aka Ryan Air style for anything that moves, doesn't move. inflexible on just over a KG over weight on my case, yet the wife's case was 3kg or so under, and they wouldn't let us pool the weights etc.

I just think they are losing the plot and if one looks at their flight prices it would confirm that.  The best thing to happen is no bugger flies with them and lets then see their prices dropping to a more consistent and reasonable level, instead of ripping the number two out of customers, the very people they need to get them out of the hole their in.

Mr Boo Boo

Never had a problem with TC, although must agree that they are getting carried away with additional charges (seat reservation/extra luggage allowance/on board meals/TC charitable donations etc etc etc... however we booked with them again to fly to Fue in Jan and the price of flight plus accomodation was < 1/2 that being quoted by Tom (First Choice)...

Re seats it always been a bone of contention with me be it TOM or TC or any other airline, I can put up with the leg room etc its just when some selfish bar steward decides to recline the seats that gets my back up (but that's an old rant).... :o
