Hotel Surfing Colours used to be called before it was surfing Colours?

I think it was called Hotel Surfing Colours Brightspark, but I could be wrong

Nah, it is a relatively new name but the building has been there a while. Just wondering `cos a mate is stopping there in September.

I don't think it had a name before Surfing Colours.
We've stayed at the Bristol Playa (which is around the corner from the Surfing Colours) several times over the last few years and my memory of the building was always that it was always empty and a bit run down and was more like a block of (social housing?) flats than a Hotel.
The block next door actually had two security guards on the door so who knows what sort of people were living there?
If you look on Google Maps https://maps.google.co.uk/ there is a photo on there apparently taken in March 2011 which would confirm the condition of the building and it's plot.
However over the last few years the building has been refurbished and has opened up as the Surfing Colours and appears to be doing quite well with the 'surfy crowd'.

Ah, right, that explains it, I couldn`t think of a hotel in that area. A mate of mine is staying there in September.
