Somebody in the La Oliva Ayuntamiento has been struck by inspiration and come up with a brilliant plan to increase the number of parking spaces.

Unused plots of land within towns have been 'temporarily' ceded to the Ayuntamiento as extra parking.
How many and how temporary I don't know but it can't be for too short a time as the plots have been tarmacced and painted.

Initiative at last :o! Mind you, some of them are so small they're not worth the bother. I don't use them for fear of getting boxed in. But the one a block behind Finnegan's (off Lepanto) is a good-sized car park. I can't believe that when I arrived here in 2012 you could just park wherever you liked - there was always a space about six cars away from where you were going. Now you can go round and round searching for somewhere.

Wait till they turn calle Hernan Cortes into a pedestrian area. :o
The whole area includes the road before the police station, the road behind Centro Atlantico, and back to mainstreet.
That's about 35-40 parking spaces gone  >:(
And what about all the delivery trucks supplying the bars and restaurants  :'(
Work was planned to start last novembre, so adding the mañana factor, we will loose more parking spaces in 2016  ;D
