Full moon and Geminids
« on: December 14, 2016, 18:30:02 pm »
Good big full moon rising tonight soon (around 6.56pm)  If you miss that, look out for the Geminids meteor shower which peaks tonight.  The bright moon will make them harder to see but if it stays clear you should be able to see a few later if you can find somewhere away from the street lights.

The supermoon is clearly visible here in the UK.
Probably not as big as the one on 14th November but at least it's visible.

Happened awake at 04:30 and remembered to go out for a look - breath-taking despite the moon, I must have seen 10 meteors in about 2 minutes! I stood facing East which put the moon behind me and just looked up and there they were. I'm not expecting much tonight as we have full cloud cover and heavy rain at the moment!
