EasyJet on-board sales

It's my first time travelling with EJ having been caught up in the Monarch thing (money hopefully being refunded by MasterCard).

On Monarch, I would buy my duty free spirits on the flight (out and back).  From EJ's website, I cannot see if they have on-board sales of spirits. I assume that if they don't say, they don't sell

Does anyone know if this is true, from experiance?

The alternatives are
a) buy from Fuerte airport duty free at their inflated prices (anyone know how much they are charging for Gordons or Larios?)
b) buy locally and pack in checked baggage.
c) Buy duty free at Liverpool on way out and collect on way back (currently £11/litre)

There's no mention of spirits in their latest inflight magazine.

I would buy in the airport on the way out & buy locally on the way back. Most spirits are available in plastic 1ltr bottles or buy locally produced spirits (glass) & put in checked luggage, wrapped in a towel should be fine. I have done this before successfully.

Kings , along from the Talk of the town in Corralejo. Cheap but the owner is very aggressive , doesn`t want people to browse. I just walked out, same as I do in the fake  electronics shops when they start haranguing , don`t seem to know their place those people. Rather get stuff in the big supermarkets, at least you know it`s genuine.
Mentor to the boneheads.

I just buy on Ryanair â,¬14 for 1ltr Gordon's,

It's only £11 in World Duty Free in the UK.

Good value now that pound is Fecked. Is that a 1ltr bottle. But then I won`t be in the UK any time soon.
Yes, £11 a litre.  And for the next 3 weeks, Stansted is offering 10% off the prices in World Duty Free!

Try Jack's Supermarket if you are in Caleta. Quite a few bars use it.
In the row of shops at Villa Florida Apartments

I just buy on Ryanair â,¬14 for 1ltr Gordon's, Jameson, Bushmills, Smirnoff and other stuff I cant remember. Also cigs Silk cut B&H etc. â,¬30 for 200.

Oh, right!!

So, I'll just cancel my flight (bought at an increase over the Monarch price) and re-book on RyanAir at un-Godly hours, from an airport I'm not going to be anywhere near, just to spend £3 more than I would from World Duty Free!

As if!!

That would be great, if I wasn't flying from Liverpool. Perhaps this is another example of the North-South divide

Not really, the offer also applies to Manchester (as well as East Midlands and Bournemouth).

Duty Free is usually £20 for 2 litres of Gin, Whisky or Vodka on Easyjet (you can mix & match)

SitOnMyFaceBook message to EasyJet

"Do you sell duty-free alcohol litre bottles) on flights?.  I can't find anything on the website about it, just gifts, fragrances and tobacco"

And the reply was

"We don't  David. Sorry, Robbie"

Question answered!!

We tried this at Gatwick, but because of the duty-free status of Fuerte, it's not allowed. Only duty-paid can be collected, apparently.

I can understand that and it makes sense.  From my research, it appears that the collection point is AFTER customs.

On the EJ flight out, they were selling litre bottles of duty free alcohol. When I asked the cabin manager, it depends on the route (flights outside the EU presumably) and the aircraft. A319`s don`t have room. A320`s do.

As a guide, A319s have 29 rows and A320s have 31, but don`t quote me on that!!

I`ll report after tomorrow`s flight back on prices at Hyperdino Express, Canariensis and EJ

hairybiker

And to complicate matters, the crew on the way back were telling me that it is only on flights out of Manchester and Liverpool that do duty free sales.

As promised, the price comparison

Gordons Gin 1litre
Hyperdino Express, Los Hoteles, 11.90 euros
Canariensis Duty Free, 14 euros
EasyJet on board sales £12.50, (13.85 euros at the rate I bought mine)

BUT the Easy Jet offer is a) buy 2 for £20 and b) it's 47.5% ABV, rather than the 37.5% ABV in the other which equates to £9.80 (10.86 euros) for one bottle or £7.90 (8.76 euros) if you're buying 2 bottles.

Also Golden Virginia 5x50g (for a  friend)

Funde Grue, Palmyras Centre, 31.45 euros
Canariensis, 33.40 euros
