What a grey old day! Like MLA we had a short, sharp shower around 10am, and the sun tried to break through around lunchtime before the cloud joined up again. Windy from the West during the day. The rain and wind started in earnest about 6pm with the wind moving round to the North as it strengthened still more, and it is still persisting down now.

Much as forecast yesterday grey overcast, had a rain shower whilst golfing at about 10.45am and then it rained for at least 3 hours from about 7pm at 2am it had dried up  most of the patio.

Today at 6.30 a clear starry sky 12c so the coolest morning so far for this trip, still fairly windy but not as strong as last evening.

This morning

As I type this there is only the odd high cloud but the forecast is -
A lot of cloud all day with sunny intervals and a 51% chance of rain at 9am reducing to between 30% to 40% for up to 5pm and then down to 0% by 7pm
Temperature up to 20c 11am to 3pm Uv factor up to 4 at 12noon
Wind from N to NNE 24Km/h up to 37Km/h early to mid afternoon only easing slightly late afternoon & evening.

Well it certainly was windy yesterday and still is this morning, there was the odd sharp heavy shower up to about 5pm but nothing since as far as I can tell.  Currently 80 to 90%  cloud cover, 15c on the patio and 21c in the lounge.  Re the wind in the 30 years of coming to the island I have not know anything like this but no doubt someone will say this is nothing!!! the wind is almost causing white horses on the pool!!

Forecast for today
Yellow waring for Wind at 45Km/h (28mph) from NNE / NE up until mid late aftermoon then droping to mid low 30'sKm/h during the evening.
Cloud will break to give sunny intervals during the morning come back again early afternoon but clear to give blus clear sky by 5/6pm
Temperature to reach 19c UV factor of up to 4 at noon, no rain forecast.

Pictures from my walk yesterday afternoon 2.30 to 3.30pm in order, just shows how the clouds change quickly with this wind.

And this morning - look how the palm trees are bent in the wind, have posted a video on FB to try and show it better. (not sure if you can post a video on here?)

It was windy yesterday but in sheltered spots when the sun got out it was pleasantly warm and down here in Caleta it is still fairly windy at 7.30am with a patio temperature of 15c and lot of cloud particularly to the east and south east as can be seen in the pictures.

Forecast for today -
Cloud to clear by 11am to leave the rest of the day with sunny blue skies, temperature to reach about 22c by 3pm with UV factor of up to 4 at noon.
Wind from NNE all day to ease from current 32Km/h down to 22Km/h late afternoon and then 20Km/h this evening when it will move to come from the N.

Have a nice day, gardening for me this morning putting in the plants bought from Happy Plants yesterday.

A few pictures of our barranco walk today. Lajares to overlooking El Roque.

12.00pm. It felt very warm in the lee of the mountains when out of the wind and in the sun.

Amazing skies yesterday evening, in between periods of clouds. Saw masses of shooting stars, some very big and showy.

Not a very warm day. Some sun but mainly grey cloud until teatime when some nasty looking black clouds arrived, thought I was in for a soaking before I got back from walking my dog. Luckily the heavens didn't open on us. Clouds cleared enough to see the sun set. We have had drizzle during the evening though and the temperature is already down to 10C, brrrrrrrr.

Forecast not quite right yesterday, we have a short light shower about 9.45 and the lunchtime rain didn't materialise, some sunny spells during the afternoon clouded over about 4pm.  Had a shower of rain during the night as patio is wet this morning at 6.15am when it was 15c with broken cloud over head but heavier cloud out to the east over the sea.

Todays forecast -
Sunny intervals & broken cloud all day with a 4 to 7% chance of rain temperature to reach 22C early afternoon with UV factor of 3 late morning.
Wind light this morning at 9Km/h from the N picking up as the morning progresses to 18Km/h from NNW and staying there and increasing to max of 21Km/h mid afternoon.

I realized whilst stood waiting on the runway, the reason I reported that there was only a slight breeze, when I wrote the report, was the wind was blocked by the terminal building. In reality there was constant cool wind blowing off the sea. Back here in the UK, frost this morning.

Grey and chilly in Corralejo this morning:

Walking in Tindaya at teatime, still a very chilly wind:

Came across a shallow barranco where the 'topsoil' had washed away leaving a rock bed that looked as if it was water from a few metres away:

And finally, a nice sunset:

Yesterday afternoon 3.30pm & Sunset

This morning 7.30 and then 8.10

Another chilly day over here on the West coast. A lot of cloud in the morning and strong, cold wind. Found a sheltered sunny spot late in the afternoon out of the wind and it was like being in a different country, although still very hazy in the distance.

This is a puzzle pic - Spot the Houbara bustard- I could see it when I took the pic but the plumage camouflage is so good that I've now lost it!

Missed the sunset itself, it disappeared behind a bank of cloud, but left a beautiful apricot sky:

New moon spotted soon after sunset:

Bright and clear start to the day, breeze died away and it became quite hot this afternoon. Soon chilled down as sunset approached but still very little breeze for a change. 100% cloud cover when I looked out around midnight.
