Tindaya & Corralejo - hooray, some blue sky! Still a lot of cloud around but plenty of gorgeous blue sky as well. Middle part of the day was great although very strong winds. Cloud started closing in again mid-afternoon and this evening has felt quite chilly with the wind chill factor. Didn't think we were going to see a sunset and all there was was a brief glimpse about 5 mins before it was due to set!

Caleta.

Yesterday.

A lot brighter day than forecast, by late morning almost all the cloud had cleared, the
thermometer was showing 26 c but a strong Northerly wind made it feel closer to 20C.

14:00

19:00

The thermometer is still showing 24 C, but again add in the N/Easterly wind it feels like 20C.

Today.

08:00

A grey start, but there are the odd break in the cloud, so a repeat of yesterday is possible.

Temp. 19 C

Wind. Northerly 17/19 Mph

Humidity. 65%.

Visibility. Good.

Sea. A 4/5 ft swell.UV> 9.

Forecast:- a breezy day with lots of sunny spells, temp to reach low to mid 20,s, wind to move N/\easterly mid-morning and possibly strengthen slightly early evening.

Tindaya - thick cloud and strong winds have been the dominant features once again. Mid morning to mid afternoon saw the clouds break up for a while but the strong N/NE winds kept the temps down.

Caleta.

Yesterday, very much as forecast, lots of sunshine, temps reached mid 20,s but again the wind dominated.

Some pics taken in Los Molinos yesterday, where it did not seem so windy.

We had not been there for over 12 months for some reason, as it is managements favourite place on The Island, and always previously found the restaurant there to be a reasonable place for lunch, whether or not it has changed ownership i do not know, but it was garbage yesterday, plastic covered menus which you could scrape the grime off, 3/4 cats wandering around the place, I had a bottle of water that was not chilled and a Spanish omlette which was liquid in the centre, madam had Spaghetti which was cold, needless to say, we will not return {end of rant }

Today

08;30

A grey blustery start.

Temp. 18C.

Wind. N/Easterly 20/22 Mph Gusting around 30/35 Mph

Visibility. good.

Humidity. 73%

Sea. a 5/6 ft swell

UV. 9.

Forecast:- A windy day with some sunny spells, temp not to exceed mid 20,s.

Lovely pics from Los Molinos John. Your experience of the restaurant sounds just like ours on the 2 occasions we tried it, about 3 and 5 years ago - we vowed never to return!

Tindaya and Antigua - again the wind dominated all day. However it was a bright and sunny day, the cloud was quite high and kept moving along in the strong NE winds (gales at times), in sheltered places it was very hot.

A great day for visiting the fair in Antigua. It was very busy there and we were fully occupied for about 4 hours. Plenty of free food tasting: cheese, olives, jams, oils, salts, biscuits, chocolate!!, liqueurs!!, more cheese  ;D - didn't need to buy lunch as we had already treated ourselves to some gorgeous Danish(?) pastries filled with cherries on top of all the cheese etc! Thoroughly enjoyed the band that played for several hours mid-day whilst we checked out the crafts, practised our Spanish, bought a few bits and pieces. Called in at Happy Plants on the way home and bought 3 different varieties of lavender to try in the garden. Ate at the local bar in the evening so no cooking - days don't get much better  8).
Couldn't resist the last picture - the little girl's eyes were nearly as big as the candy floss! (Have no idea who she is so thought I had better cover her face. Her Mum did give permission for me to take the pic.)

Caleta.

Yesterday, Had it not been for the wind, it would have been a beautiful day, an almost cloudless sky, temp in the mid 20,s, but a 25/30 Mph N/easterly which gusted to 35/40 Mph all day.

Today

08:00

Another grey start, although there are some patches of Blue.

Temp. 18C.

Wind. 22/24 Mph. gusting 35/40 Mph

Humidity. 71%

Visibility. Good.

Sea. A 6/7 Ft swell

UV. 9.

Forecast:- A repeat of yesterday, although wind is expected to moderate to 20 Mph and the gusting to stop from mid-morning.

Tindaya - NE gales kept the temp low today despite much less cloud than of late. The day remained hazy - very poor visibility. Still gales blowing now, it's been quite unpleasant.

Caleta.

Yesterday.

The cloud nearly totally cleared by mid-morning leaving wall to wall blue sky, which lasted the entire day.

The thermometer read 26 C around 15:00, the downside was a N/easterly blowing in excess of 30Mph, which also lasted all day, making it feel closer to 19c as Tam has already said an unpleasant day.

Today.

09:00

A bright start with not so much wind.

Temp. 19 C

Wind. Northerly 16/18 Mph.

Humidity. 71%

Visibility. Good.

Sea. A 6/7 Ft swell.

UV. 9.

Forecast:- A repeat of yesterday the only exception wind is forecast to move N/easterly mid-morning, and increase 20/22 Mph,{ considerably lighter than yesterday ], temp, to reach mid 20,s.

Tindaya - much the same as yesterday. Wind had eased a bit first thing but soon picked up again. Just as blowy in Corralejo this morning.

Caleta.

Yesterday, a much better day than forecast, the cloud cleared late morning,  temp reached 27 C and wind was a lot lighter than forecast for most of the day.

13:00

19:00

This thermometer faces east so was out of the sun by this time, but still registering 25C

What you can not tell from these two pictures, is the wind had increased, and was gusting 25/30 Mph, and ruined what would have been a pleasant evening.

Today

08:30

A cloudy start with some breaks in the cloud.

Temp. 19C.

Wind. N/N/ Easterly 14/15 Mph

Visibility. Very Good.

Humidity. 71%

Sea. a 5/6 Ft swell.

UV. 9.

Forecast:- Cloud to mostly clear by mid-morning, Temp to reach mid 20,s, wind to increase early afternoon 20/22 Mph.

It is now 09:20 and the cloud is already breaking up.

Corralejo the sun is trying to get out, the wind though is terrible..way in excess of what is normal for this time of year..We were in Do Cotillo yesterday and it was blustery and last night in corralejo was just plain cold..

Really until the winds ease it's going to be a real mix and match weatherwise

It is forecast to ease to 8/10 Mph Friday and Saturday but increase again after that looking at the long-term forecast { for what that is worth ] it will be the end of the month before it eases to anywhere near normal.

Tindaya & Corralejo - more of the same, plenty of sun, plenty of cloud, loads of strong chilly wind. Poor visibility. Had a short but heavy shower this evening in Tindaya.

Tindaya - clouds still predominant although there were some lovely sunny intervals as well. The wind continued strong in the morning but moved more to NW and eased during late afternoon/evening.

JR is obviously busy so, nicked from another local Caleta report, couldn't spell 'plagiarised'

A sunny day forecast with a 10 kph NE wind this morning, increasing to 20 kph this afternoon.

Sunny and windy until mid-afternoon, and then it clouded over.

Was a bit worried John that you had forgotten us, I was going to follow Neil's example with a remote copy from Captain Sensible's Caleta website but you beat me to it with an actual local report.

View from our conservatory door in Windermere this morning -

Tindaya - same old ……….
Total grey sky, moderate cool breeze, lack of sun until teatime.

Spotted a wrecked boat below the cliffs West of Tindaya, hope no one was hurt.
In the last picture, if you use a magnifying glass  :D you can just make out a Guirre taken off from the top of the mountain. (level with the peak, just to the left.)

Yesterday was simply pants in Corralejo..so cold the locals were out in fleeces and scarves..just cloud and cool wind..felt no higher than 16 ish. Started to clear about 3.30 and was nice til about 8pm when cold and cloud returned..This morning is what you'd expect here in November. We are thinking of a trip to Jandia, it's got to be better than in the north...The mainland is sweltering which is where we will be going next year.

Tindaya - started full on grey again but by mid morning we had a mix of blue sky and clouds. The temp never really got very high - the wind still had a chill in it. Late afternoon was quite pleasant in sheltered spots. The clouds parted enough for me to track the ISS at 10pm although a general lack of stars showed this was pure luck.
Visibility during the day was better than of late, was able to see the range near Corralejo (pic 4) as well as the Betancuria Massive, all from Tindaya.

Caleta.

Apologies for being late guys, my computer downloaded some update yesterday, that meant my camera would not connect to it, needed to download another program
{ God I hate Windows10 }

Yesterday

Very much as forecast, the cloud cleared late morning and the temp reached 26 C mid-afternoon, however out of the sun and in the wind it felt more like 18C, the wind still has a definite chill to it.
unlike Tindaya, it was a very clear night lots of stars around.

14:00

18:45

Today.

08:00

A similar start to yesterday.

Temp. 19C.

Wind Northerly. 10/12 Mph.

Humidity 71%.

Visibility. Very good.

Sea. A 3/4 ft swell

UV. 8.

Forecast: similar to yesterday the cloud to clear late morning, mid-afternoon forecast to be virtually cloudless, temp to reach mid 20,s.
The BBC is forecasting rain, but no other site is.

Tindaya - lots of sun, lots of cloud, wind gentler than recently and not quite so chilly. Comfortably warm day in between the heavy cloud periods. Actually saw the sun disappear over the horizon for a change - not blocked by cloud.
