anyone remember the el sol newspaper in corralejo ?

Yep, it was good until it was taken over by a delusional guy, Robert Dork (or similar!), back in about 2011/2012. He said he was the British Consul, tried to stand in the local elections and used his first couple of editions as a political platform at which point it folded! He had something to do with a beachfront complex in Avda Grandes Playas in Corralejo, that had a bar by the road and pool bar by the beach. I remember him saying he was mates with Berni Ecclestone and was bringing F1 to Fuerte, out at Majanicho! Don't know what happened to him eventually but it was a shame the paper suffered at his hands.

Was it the first owner or the second `Dork` that had a delusional idea of forming an airline called El Sol Airways,chartering aircraft from the then operational airline, Futura. The lad was aged about 21 at the time and it was amazing how many bought into his crackpot theory..Mind you Futura didnt last much longer either
