I could be wrong, but I have a feeling this was muted before some years ago, and I additionally believe i read some months back it was being revived.

If you go to this website (I think it's the Spanish land registry) and zoom in on El Cotillo/ELRoque, you will see a massive area highlighted in red between the two villages:

The extra development will obviously just totally ruin what endearing features people see in El Cotilo i.e. natural beauty, peace and quite, lagoons and surfing. Why would anybody come once that has gone????? it will finish like Caleta, soulless.
