Non-residents certificate?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else had money taken from their accounts for an a non- residents certificate? It seems to imply that its an application? Anyone know anything about this? We have never been stopped this before.

If the bank have taken 30 or 35 euro from your account, it's quite possible that it is the non-residents tax on your bank account.

Isn't this charge for the police checking your non-resident status? You can avoid by ensuring your bank has your uptodate NIE, I think. Others may know about it. We haven't been charged lately.

Yeah, I was thinking that was probably it. I think we pay 27â,¬ each & I think yearly but not certain on that one

We've read the Janet Anscombe site. and it does appear to be the Non-Residence certificate thingy! Thanks everyone.

I am with Solbank, they process it every two years
